AIDSWatch, formed in 1992, is NAPWA's grassroots advocacy program that brings HIV positive people and their supporters to Washington, DC from all 50 states to meet their elected members of Congress. AIDSWatch participants help to educate Legislators on the need for improved healthcare and treatment accessibility, science and evidence based prevention, as well as make the case for the need to increase appropriations and access to effective services such as Medicaid, ADAP, HOPWA, and RWCA.
