WORLD Congratulates Executive Director Cynthia Carey-Grant For Prestigious Sabbatical Award

Women Organized to Respond to Life-threatening Diseases is proud to announce that Executive Director Cynthia Carey-Grant is one of eight nonprofit executives in California recognized with the 2016 CA Wellness Sabbatical Program Award.

The California Wellness Foundation Sabbatical Program Award was created to improve the long-term effectiveness of health-focused nonprofits by providing their executives with the rest and revitalization they need to continue to direct their organizations’ missions.

 

“This coveted award is not only a recognition of Cynthia’s dedicated leadership, but also of WORLD’s important role in the in the broader healthcare community,” said Deborah Royal, co-chair of the WORLD Advisory Board. “The award also provides critical leadership and organizational development support for WORLD during the sabbatical period that would not ordinarily be accessible.”

 

Ms Carey-Grant begins her 16 week sabbatical effective March 28, 2017.

“All the honorees have made important contributions to the health and wellness of their communities,” said Fatima Angeles, vice president of programs. “The sabbatical award provides them with the opportunity to recharge and then return to their organizations with renewed vitality  and focus.”

 

The California Wellness Foundation is a private independent foundation created in 1992. Since its founding, Cal Wellness has awarded 8,265 grants totaling more than $950 million. WORLD has been a grantee of the CA Wellness Foundation and extends profound appreciation for their continued support.
